Little Black Tee (Part 5 of Organized-Me Series)

Hello readers! I missed all of you! I hope you all had a great start for 2013. 🙂

Anyway, this is the last part of my Organized-Me Series. And since this is the last of the series, I decided to post about how I store things which are staple items in our wardrobe and what we women usually collect a lot…accessories!

Since I was seven years old I used to store my earrings, rings, and necklaces on music and jewelry boxes. It looks cute on my dresser, however, jewelry boxes kept taking more and more space on my dresser as my accessories piled up.

That’s the way I used to keep my accessories until I browsed Zalora last December and saw this Umbra Little Black Tee.

Product details from Zalora Philippines website:

Say Goodbye to chunky and tacky jewelry cases that take up too much space and say hello to this stylish Little Black Tee Jewelry holder and organizer from Umbra. Keep your jewelry stowed and clearly visible in your closet while you pick out your look for the day.

The women’s Little Black Tee Jewelry holder and organizer from Umbra is made of black polyester and vinyl blend in a provocative corset shape. It features 19 hook and loop tabs, and 28 clear pockets for organizing jewelry. Product dimensions are 44.5 x 31.5 x 1.75 cm.

Let me just say, the creators of jewelry organizers like this are geniuses! My jewelry is organized and the Little Black Tee presents my accessories in a decorative way. (.^_^.)

As you can see I put my earrings, small necklaces, and rings in the clear pockets…

and used the hook and loop tabs at the back to store bracelets, watches, and other necklaces.

By the way, most of these accessories are bought from ZALORA Philippines.

How about you? How do you store your jewelry?

Thanks for reading my post! (.^_^.)

Where’d All My Money Go? (Part 3 of Organized-Me Series)

Let’s do some money talk.

As my mom always says, “Ang bilis maubos ng pera.” (Money gets used up quickly.) I couldn’t agree more. Ever got that feeling when you got your paycheck and just a few weeks after your money just went poof! With prices of commodities rising (especially gasoline and LPG), it feels like your cash just flies out of your hand.

That’s why maintaining a budget and tracking your expenses is very important. It’s what I do, with a little help from technology and applying my organizing skills.

Since I’m an Apple fan I use these 2 apps to monitor my monthly budget and accounts:

Note: Some of the pictures do not reflect my finances.

1. Cash Vault for iPhone/iTouch

(photos – taken from iTunes store)

This is my most used finance app, not only because it’s the most useful but because it’s my first finance app.

What I love about this app is that it accurately monitors and categorizes my expenses (Food, Apparel, Gas, Grocery, etc. see pictures), it’s also because I encode my expenses right away as soon as cash flows out.

It’s perfect for monitoring bank accounts, cash boxes, piggy banks, and wallets. Keeping tabs on remaining cash and expenses during out-of-town trips is a breeze when using Cash Vault, because I assign another wallet account for trips so my other petty cash won’t get mixed up with trip allowance.

Here’s a pic of the app in my iTouch:

Cash Vault is ideal for cash transactions only though. I’m using the full version ($2.99), but there’s also an available free version in the app store if you want to check it out and try it first before purchasing.

2. Money for iPhone/iPad

If you want an app that could help you keep track of your assets and liabilities and not just mere cash, then this one’s for you.

Money for iPhone or iPad helps me keep track of cash and other assets, like land, my perfume store, as well as liabilities, like credit card payables.  It subtracts my liabilities from my assets automatically so I always know how much my current net worth is.

Never miss due dates and other payment obligation deadlines again. This app has a built-in calendar specially designed for planned transactions and alerts for upcoming due dates for bills. Overdue (red), planned (blue), and paid (green) transactions have their own color code so you can distinguish the transactions from each other easily.

Another useful feature of the Money app is that it has its own budget tracker and colorful reports presentations.

Lost your files accidentally? Don’t fret. Money has a backup feature so just retrieve your files from the backup section of the app. Plus, you can also synchronize your data from one device to another either by iCloud or Bluetooth. In the picture below I’m syncing my iTouch and iPad using bluetooth:

Here’s a pic of the Money app in my iPad:

It is safe to say that this is an all-in-one finance app.

Full version price is $9.99, but there is also a free version if you want to try first before purchasing. It’s also available for Android users. You can check it out at http://www.ibearmoney.com

Because of these 2 apps I know where every centavo of my money is saved or spent. I can perfectly recall where I put my money and I now have a good budgeting strategy. I review the figures at the end of the week and every end of the month and so far I’m pleased with the results. See? If you can be organized with your stuff, you can also be organized with your finances! (.^_^.)

ORGAniced Bag (Part 2 of Organized-Me Series)

Hi readers! We’re now on part 2 of my Organized-Me Series! In the first part of the series I shared about how I organize my cables and cords. Now I’ll tell you how I keep the things in my bag clutter free.

Since my workplace/store is a bit far from home, I tend to carry a lot of stuff with me – you name it – gadgets, money, keys, stylus, documents, calculator, make up kit, organizer, pens, paper, shades, scarf, perfume, Swiss knife, etc. You never know what you’ll need later so I tend to over pack my bag. Going back home during your office hours just to get an item is not only a waste of money; it’s a waste of time too.

So here’s the tricky part: how do you fit all those stuff in your bag? I’m not the type who gets away with bringing a huge one coz I’m not tall (I’ll look like a bag lady if I do).  Not only do you have to fit all those items inside, it has to be neatly placed too. Fail to do so and you’ll be digging like a dog every time you need to fish an item out of your bag.

I used to resort to pouches but they tend to bulk up my bag, so instead I resorted to bag organizers.

Here’s how my bag looks like with my bag organizer in it:

Ang ayos noh? I love how my Organice bag organizer keeps my stuff neat and properly placed in my bag. See how this organizing tool helps maximize storage space? And, transferring things is just a breeze thanks to this organizer…no more fretting about leaving needed things behind.

So here’s how I arrange my essentials in the organizer:

– I put my gadgets (pocket wifi, Nokia E72, and iTouch 4G) in the outer pockets

– My pressed powders (Loreal True Match and Johnson shine-free face powder), comb, and Green Cross alcohol are designated in the other outer pockets (see below pics)

I also put a smaller bag organizer inside the big bag organizer in order to place my small items properly. It also comes in handy when I use smaller bags so my things are still organized.

Inside the small bag organizer:

– Travalo Excel (contains Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker edt)

– Nokia bluetooth headset

– lip essentials (Triple Chocolate Mint lip gloss, Loreal lipstick, and Nivea lip balm)

Inside the small bag organizer (other side):

– Maybelline blush on

– Victorinox Swiss Card (very handy for ladies!)

– Clean & Clear Oil Control Film

There are smaller pockets in the organizer’s side that I use to keep my pen, stylus, comb, and brush.

Want a bag organizer like mine? Just drop by my store, PocketScents. I have only limited stocks available, so hurry…while supplies last!

Thanks for reading my blog. Let’s be organized together! (.^_^.)

Tangle-free! (Part 1 of Organized – Me Series)

Welcome to Organized-Me blog series, a series of blogs about stuff I use (and love) that keep my room, workplace, and bags organized. People who are close to me know I don’t like clutter, so I always organize my stuff with help from a few items. So what are those items? Stay tuned…. (.^_^.)

Don’t you just love gadgets? Who doesn’t?

For busy people like me, gadgets are really a blessing, as they make my work easier. I’m not the type of person who owns only one gadget; it’s just not possible.

But several gadgets also means having more….CORDS!

Picture this: You need to get a charger/USB cable among your pile of wires and as you pull it out all the other wires cling to that one you need. So the next few minutes becomes a detangling war between you and your other cords. Happened to me a lot before. And don’t get me started when you go traveling with those wires….

Well not anymore!

I already bid tangled-cords scenarios goodbye since I used Rilakkuma Cord Winders and Leaf Tie Cable Organizers.

Rilakkuma Cord Winder (I use this one for my computer power cord)

The Rilakkuma is soooooo cute! Kikay. (.^_^.)

Leaf Tie Cable Organizer (keeps the speaker cords from tangling with the power cords and my feet at my office)

Thanks to these babies I never have to waste time detangling cords from each other before I pull them out of their respective boxes.

See how my cord storage boxes seem hassle-free?

I want you organized too, so grab your own Rilakkuma cord winder/Leaf cable ties and start organizing your gadget cables now! These wonders are available locally at my store PocketScents.
